18. The pros of being a 'mature' new teacher
Change is good, my friends! I should know! I spent 27 years in the classroom and that doesn’t count the first four years right out of high school, when I was a para professional supporting students on IEPs. I have been in education literally my entire adult life! And it’s been amazing! But it’s also been exciting stepping into a new roll as business woman, consultant, and coach.
Now what if you are moving in the opposite direction? You started out in the corporate world or you stayed at home to raise a family, and now you are jumping in to a second career around the mid-life mark? Well, I’m here to tell you that this will bring you a unique perspective that will help to make you an amazing rock star teacher - sooner than you think.
